Podere Gagliassi Details

Podere Gagliassi is a historic winery located in Monforte d’Alba, in the heart of the Langhe, a place where tradition, culture and innovation naturally come together. Although the estate itself has deep historical roots, we acquired the winery and its vineyards in 2015, beginning a new chapter driven by passion, vision and respect for the land.

From the very start, we chose to cultivate our vineyards organically, a philosophy that reflects our commitment to sustainable viticulture and to producing wines that are authentic expressions of their terroir. In 2020, this approach was officially recognized with the achievement of Organic Certification. Today, we carefully grow Nebbiolo, Barbera, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, always aiming for quality, balance and elegance.

Our Barolo Badarina from Serralunga d’Alba fully embodies these values, combining structure and finesse while remaining true to its origins.

Podere Gagliassi is first and foremost a family project. Here, the hands and shared vision of Giacomo, Davide and Roberto work side by side, blending technical expertise, curiosity and respect for tradition to create distinctive and innovative wines that reflect both the land and our personal journey.

The estate is also deeply connected to local history and legend. In the 17th century, during a severe drought, pilgrims from La Morra would walk to Savona to pray to Saint Anna for rain. On their return, they were struck by a violent storm that destroyed everything around them—yet, miraculously, they remained completely dry. This event gave rise to the legend of the “dry wanderer.”
To commemorate this miracle and honor Saint Anna, a small church was built in her name. It still watches over our vineyards today and is proudly featured on our label through its symbols: the church, the wanderer and the sun, representing faith, protection and the special bond between land and people."
