The Il Cancelliere winery is located in the heart of Montemarano, in an area particularly suited to the production of Taurasi. The family-run winery was founded by Soccorso Romano, from whom it takes its nickname. It was born from a desire to valorize the fruits of their land and their labor by rediscovering ancient rural traditions. The winery is located in the Romano family farmhouse and is surrounded by vineyards that produce the prestigious Aglianico. The vineyards benefit from the experience of Soccorso and his wife, as well as the agronomic knowledge of their son Enrico. The winemaking process is based on the peasant art of winemaking, which Soccorso learned from his father, in collaboration with winemaker Antonio di Gruttola. In the cellar, barrels are predominantly used oak instead of new, to enhance the aromas and flavors that characterize the grapes of this area.
